Ellipsis Media International at the Lima International Book Fair 2025
As part of the event organized by the Italian Embassy in Lima and the Italian Cultural Institute of Lima, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (@italymfa), Ellipsis Media International is pleased to have contributed to the realization of the film showcase.
The films in the program, selected by the Italian Cultural Institute of Lima, have been made available thanks to the research work and the management of international contracts handled by Ellipsis Media International in collaboration with the respective world sales.
From July 18 to August 6, 2025, visitors to the Fair will embark on a journey into Italian creativity through a selection that weaves together great classics and new visions, all inspired by literature.
Among the featured titles:
Pinocchio by Matteo Garrone, based on Carlo Collodi’s immortal masterpiece;
Pinocchio by Enzo d’Alò, animated by drawings by Lorenzo Mattotti, who also directed The Famous Invasion of the Bears in Sicily, based on the celebrated novel by Dino Buzzati;
The Eight Mountains, an adaptation of the award-winning novel by Paolo Cognetti (Strega Prize winner);
The Hummingbird, inspired by the novel by Sandro Veronesi;
Confidenza by Daniele Luchetti, from the book by Domenico Starnone;
L’Arminuta, based on the novel by Donatella Di Pietrantonio, winner of the Campiello Prize;
The Leopard by Luchino Visconti, from the masterpiece by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa;
Leonora addio by Paolo Taviani, freely inspired by Luigi Pirandello;
Cinderella the Cat, which reinterprets Giambattista Basile’s fairy tale in a contemporary way;
Volare (Tutto il mio folle amore) by Gabriele Salvatores;
The First Day of My Life by Paolo Genovese;
Invelle by Simone Massi (Peruvian premiere);
Ten Minutes by Maria Sole Tognazzi—testifying to the narrative vitality of contemporary Italian cinema.
