An epic and realistic coming-of-age story told from the point of view of five thirteen-year-olds, L’Aquila Great Hopes is the tale of a city – almost completely destroyed after the earthquake – and of its people suspended between a past they can’t escape and a future they have yet to build. It is the story of a collective atmosphere where hope, defeat, the will to live and the fear of dying are constantly entwined.
